Some time ago, I bought a painting with the idea of hanging it in my office. When Tijs, the Dutch artist behind the piece, asked me where I intended to place it, I naturally mentioned that I am the president of a Foundation and that it would find its home in my office. I was happy to share the name of the Foundation with him, even though I knew our website was still only available in Italian. A few days later came a wonderful surprise: Tijs wrote to tell me he had visited our site. He was deeply moved by our story and our daily commitment, and decided to offer us an unexpected gift, he would donate a piece titled “Where sorrow glows” to the Foundation.

This unexpected gift reminds us that the passion and dedication we put into our work reach far and wide, well beyond language barriers. In that title, “Where sorrow glows”, we found the deepest meaning of our mission: turning suffering into hope and beauty every single day. Our heartfelt thanks to Tijs for this precious gift, which will bring even more light and meaning to our headquarters and to our journey together.
