We have reached the end of the first edition of the ‘In 3 Words’ Literary Contest. It has been an immense effort but also a source of great satisfaction, both for the level of participation and the quality of the entries received. The setting was extraordinary: the Turin International Book Fair. There could be no more suitable place to present awards to our young writers. The three winners were: Jasmine Barbera with ‘Interview with Mr Future’ for Primary School, Isabella Makar with ‘Us’ for Lower Secondary School, and Michele Nicolazzini with ‘Sea Wolf’ for Upper Secondary School. Furthermore, we also presented a Jury Prize to Giulio Cavazzana for the talent expressed in his work ‘Alphabet of Love’, created together with his learning support teachers.

The children received their awards directly from the hands of little Giulia, sister of Lucrezia Tangorra, after whom the Foundation is named.

Three members of the Jury attended the ceremony: Stefania Niccolini, Zita Dazzi, and Vittorio Emanuele Orlando. We thank them for managing to fit this commitment into their busy professional schedules. We were not as fortunate with the other two jurors, Maria Canella and Fausto Boccati, who were unable to attend. Nevertheless, it was a privilege for us to have them in our group and to benefit from their immense professionalism. In addition to the jury members, we had the pleasure of having Marco Zapparoli from Marcos y Marcos with us at the ceremony; his precious advice helped us from the very beginning of this adventure.

At the end of the ceremony, Vittorio Emanuele Orlando, Director of Focus Junior, wished to add a subscription to Focus magazines for each winner to the prizes offered by the Foundation. This took us by surprise, but we can only thank him, most sincerely, for this gesture as well.

Special thanks go to Lorenzo Mauri for his support, which, as usual, was fundamental: his work behind the scenes is quiet and tireless. We also thank Carlo Croci of Net Ten, Max Montaruli and Silvia Gariglio of Fondazione Libro, Luca Alberti of Micromatic, Marco Mocchi, Antonella Minetto, and Marco Benzoni for their great work supporting the jury, and finally Carlo Robiglio of Interlinea and Marco Zapparoli of Marcos y Marcos for the invaluable passes that allowed the winners and their families to enter the Fair through the main entrance!

For our Foundation, this was an extraordinary milestone, but above all, it is the starting point for future projects.
